PHILADELPHIA (September 3, 2020) – As summer winds down, Center City District (CCD) parks will begin to transition into the fall season with small-scale, outdoor events – all in accord with CDC, State and City guidelines. Guests can expect returning favorites, like fitness classes and live music, plus new additions and a reimagined celebration of all things autumn. As always, all programs are free and open to guests of all ages. This season’s lineup includes:
Dilworth Park

Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics
Mondays & Tuesdays
September 8 through October 13 | 6 p.m.
Get movin’ with free fitness classes presented by the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. Professional trainers from Optimal Sport will lead socially-distanced activities, including Zumba® on Monday nights and Boot Camp on Tuesdays. All classes will be limited to just 50 people, available on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early to fill out a waiver, which can be accessed via a personal smartphone. Tablets will be available if a smartphone is inaccessible. There will be no bag check.
PNC presents Live @ Lunch
Wednesdays & Thursdays
September 9 through October 15 | noon - 1 p.m.
Local musicians will showcase their talents during lunchtime concerts in the PNC Terrace every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, beginning with The Dirty Shirleys on September 9 and Patty on September 10. The diverse lineup, curated by Little Giant Creative, features a variety of performers, ranging from bluesy folk bands and R&B boppers to popstars on the rise. This program is presented by PNC Bank and supported by Live Nation. The schedule of performances can be found at DilworthPark.org.

Wednesdays & Thursdays
Through October 7 | 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Center City residents and visitors are encouraged to bring takeout meals from neighborhood restaurants to enjoy in the park every Wednesday and Thursday evening, with live music popping up from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Twinkling market lights, colorful umbrellas and lush plantings decorate the space, helping to create a safe and socially-distant destination for al fresco dining. Cocktails to-go, featuring Jim Beam Black and Hornito’s Tequila, plus Bud Light Seltzer, will be offered to guests 21 and older. The park’s on-site Air Grille will offer a full dinner menu with rotating specials. Keep an eye out for Janet Echelman’s colorful art installation, Pulse.

Thursdays & Fridays
September 10 through October 2 | noon - 7 p.m.
Support a variety of local small businesses by browsing and buying handmade crafts, confections, artwork and more. Unique vendors will pop up every week, allowing guests to explore their offerings throughout the season.
Harvest Weekend presented by Maker’s Mark
Friday, October 9 | noon - 8 p.m.
Saturday, October 10 | noon - 8 p.m.
Sunday, October 11 | noon - 6 p.m.
Harvest Weekend will encompass the best elements of autumn with low-impact entertainment and festive décor. Three distinct activation zones will feature unique offerings, including a family-friendly area on the lawn with pumpkin painting. A deconstructed beer garden will offer ample seating and a full cocktail to-go menu, featuring tasty fall beverages made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon and SQRRL Peanut Butter Whiskey, plus craft beer including Goose Island and local favorites from Troegs. Delicious seasonal dishes, like bratwurst, will be available for purchase. The PNC Terrace will offer additional seating and a front-row view of live music, with talent curated by Live Nation, throughout the weekend. Additional entertainment will include live pumpkin-carving demonstrations, circus arts and other surprises. The Made in Philadelphia Fall Market will also be open and available for guests to enjoy.
Sister Cities Park

All programs at Sister Cities Park will be held on the Center Lawn with plenty of space for social distancing. Adults and children over the age of 2 will be asked to wear a mask. Hand sanitizer will be available for guests during all events. Programs will be first come, first served and limited to 50 people.

Kids are invited to get out their giggles with a variety of stress-reducing tactics through the power of positivity. Smiles are mandatory!
Parkway Pals Saturday Series: Hip-Hop Fundamentals
Saturday, September 19 | noon - 1 p.m.
Young visitors will learn the building blocks of hip-hop dancing through an interactive and fun performance!
Parkway Pals Saturday Series: Bubble Magic
Saturday, September 26 | noon - 1 p.m.
George the Bubble Magician will host a fun magic show featuring giant bubbles with some help from the audience.
Parkway Pals Saturday Series: Grow Up Green with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation
Saturday, October 3 | noon - 1 p.m.
Kids will learn the power of imagination through nature-themed lessons and crafts with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.
Parkway Pals Saturday Series: Silly Joe
Saturday, October 10 | noon - 1 p.m.
Family-favorite entertainer, Silly Joe, will lead fun sing-alongs and story readings.
Parkway Pals Saturday Series: Halloween Story Art with the Free Library of Philadelphia
Saturday, October 17 | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Celebrate Halloween with a fun scavenger hunt through the park, which will be decorated in full fall flair. At noon, the Free Library of Philadelphia will host a festive Story Art program, featuring interactive story reading and individual crafts. Kids are encouraged to dress in costumes.
Parkway Pals: Story Art with the Free Library of Philadelphia
Tuesdays
September 15 through October 13 |11 a.m. - noon
Miss Mary from the Free Library of Philadelphia will host Story Art for young children every Tuesday morning. She will begin with an immersive story hour, encouraging kids to participate through songs and interactive content. Young guests will receive an individual craft to do at home!
Parkway Pals: Woven Together with the Fabric Workshop & Museum
Wednesdays
September 16 through October 14 | 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Give the kids a break from virtual learning at the end of the day and get outside for Woven Together with the Fabric Workshop & Museum. The program encourages youngsters to embrace their creativity through engaging textile crafts and fun projects.
Live at Sister Cities
Fridays
September 11 through October 16 | 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Bring a blanket, find a spot and relax into the weekend as local singer-songwriters perform on the lawn. Refreshments will be available from the Sister Cities Café.

Enjoy live DJ entertainment at Capriccio Café and Bar located in beautiful Cret Park! DJ Osagie, an Atlanta native who moved to Philly with a dream to bring people together through music, will headline this series.

Chaddsford Winery Pop-Up

3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Chaddsford Winery will be on-site to sell their locally made wines by the bottle. This pop-up supports the Center City District Foundation.
CCD and the parks’ café operators have implemented increased health safety procedures throughout the parks and visitors will be reminded to adhere to all CDC guidelines. CCD staff are all wearing masks. Anyone who feels sick, or has come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, should refrain from entering the parks. The fall season at Dilworth Park is presented by Rothman Orthopaedics and PNC Bank and supported by Temple University, Live Nation and Maker’s Mark Bourbon. All programs are weather permitting and subject to change.
