PHILADELPHIA (May 26, 2022) – Center City District announces the return of The Garden, a weekend-long celebration of summer that adds to Dilworth Park’s greenery, flowers and brightly colored artwork. Beginning Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12, expect live performances, activities for families and free admission for everyone.
Costumed circus performers and stilt walkers will stroll through the park as visitors enjoy blooming bursts of floral décor, including a photo-wall, giant flowers and shaded pergolas adorned in dangling vines. Featuring a decorated flower backdrop, the Haku Vodka Garden Bar will offer signature cocktails made with the Japanese craft vodka, Haku. While at the Air Grille Garden, guests can keep cool with refreshing Stella Artois, Michelob Ultra and portable summer-inspired cocktail pouches featuring the flavors of new Truly Vodka.
Fresh and delicious bites can be found throughout the park, including a special menu from Brulee Catering. Find elote street corn, grilled steak kebobs, a burrata salad and fresh fruit skewers, in addition to standard festival fare. Philly-based Dre’s Water Ice will also have their pop-up shop open throughout the weekend.
Daily entertainment will include live DJ sets and performances by local musicians. On Saturday afternoon, participants 21 years of age or older can test their luck during a first come, first serve winner-takes-all ping pong tournament with prizes courtesy of Stella Artois. For families, crafts and chalk art will keep the kids entertained between dips in the dancing fountain. Saturday, the Flower Fairy will perform a magical bubble show on the Summer Garden on the Greenfield Lawn, and on Sunday, the Philadelphia Bee Company will host an educational demonstration about honey bees.
The Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink will be open to the public with regular hours, Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-11:15 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.-8:45 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets online ahead of time at rothmanrink.ticketsocket.com. Sessions are expected to sell out.
Planned in conjunction with The Garden, an extension of the Philadelphia Marketplace will give guests the opportunity to browse and buy unique finds while supporting small businesses and makers. The outdoor market will feature artwork, home goods, treats and more.
