Festive illuminations animate the west façade of City Hall through New Year’s Day!
PHILADELPHIA (November 15, 2022): Beginning Monday, November 21, the west façade of Philadelphia’s historic City Hall comes to life for the 6th year with the return of the Deck the Hall Light Show presented by Independence Blue Cross in Dilworth Park. Every evening through New Year’s Day, the historical architecture of City Hall will be illuminated with the creative work of Philadelphia-based, art and design studio Klip Collective.
Produced with support from 6abc and the Center City District, the full show plays for nearly 9 minutes at the top of every hour beginning at 5 p.m. through 9 p.m. daily. In between show times, City Hall’s unique architecture will remain animated with rotating projections.
The show is free for visitors of all ages to enjoy, and is visible from anywhere in Dilworth Park. Families skating on the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink, couples strolling through the Wintergarden and friends shopping at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market will all be able to pause for a few moments to marvel at the magic happening before their eyes.
“Deck the Hall brings the spirit of the season to life and creates memories that last a lifetime,” said Gregory E. Deavens, Independence Blue Cross President and CEO. “Everyone at Independence Blue Cross is proud to support this effort, which gives families, friends, and visitors a special place to come together.”
“We love the holiday season, and 6abc is delighted to help light up Center City,” says President & General Manager of 6abc, Bernie Prazenica. “The Deck the Hall Light Show is a dazzling and magnificent holiday attraction that enriches the holiday experience for city guests and residents alike.”
Winter at Dilworth Park is presented by the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and supported by Independence Blue Cross, 6abc and Temple University. All programs are weather permitting and subject to change. Dilworth Park is located at 1 S. 15th St., on the west side of City Hall. Visit DilworthPark.org to learn more.
