Hay Maze, Coffee Giveaways and More Beginning this September! 


PHILADELPHIA (August 22, 2024): Center City District (CCD) welcomes the arrival of autumn with a full lineup of free-to-attend programs starting in September at parks and public spaces across Center City, including Dilworth Park’s 10th anniversary, a hay maze and events for office workers.

Dilworth Park

Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics (Zumba®)
Tuesdays 
Through October 1 | 6 p.m.
 
Keep it movin’ with professional trainers from City Fitness! Every Tuesday, participants of all skill levels are invited to join free outdoor Zumba® classes in the heart of Center City, courtesy of the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.

Please arrive early to fill out a waiver, which can be accessed via a personal smartphone. There will be no bag check.

Dilworth Park 10th Anniversary Celebration
Wednesday, September 4 | Noon-2 p.m. 
In commemoration of Dilworth Park’s 10th anniversary, CCD will offer complimentary bouquets as well as lemonade to parkgoers, while supplies last. Sections of the park will be decorated in seasonal blooms, guests can participate in an interactive chalk coloring activity and from noon-2 p.m., live music will be offered during Live @ Lunch.

September 4-October 3 | Noon-1 p.m.
 
Take a break from the office at lunchtime to support local musicians. This series is produced in conjunction with the Women’s Coalition for Empowerment.

Philadelphia Marketplace 
Fridays & Saturdays
September 6-October 5 | Noon-6 p.m.

A rotating lineup of local small businesses and makers pop-up weekly with a variety of offerings, including artwork, home goods, clothing and more. 

Maze Days
Daily | October 18-Ocotber 27  
Enjoy fall on the farm without leaving the city! For 10 days this autumn, the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn transforms to a fun-for-all-ages experience right outside of Philadelphia’s historic City Hall. Programs include a storytime for children, themed happy hours, special appearances from the Philly Goat Project, pumpkin carving and more.

On Saturdays, October 19 and 26, come for afternoons full of music, fresh apple cider making, a stein-hoisting contest hosted by Broad Street Brewing, Not So Silent Cinema and Bingo with prizes. For complete schedule visit dilworthpark.org

Friday, October 18-Sunday, October 20 | 12 p.m.- 5 p.m.

 A diverse lineup of 60+ local artisans will display unique finds such as paintings, jewelry, crafts and more! Come out to support these one-of-a-kind entrepreneurs.

Toddlers and their parents will be joined by the Free Library of Philadelphia for stories, songs and movement. 
 

Pictures in the Park

Spend Friday nights under the stars and watch animated films on the big screen! Classic movie theater snacks will be available at the Sister Cities Café, plus beer, wine and cocktails for adults. Bring-your-own blankets encouraged.

  • 9/21: Musical Movement with Miss Minor
  • 9/28: Interactive Storytime with Thembi Palmer
  • 10/5: DesignPhiladelphia Kids Fest (12 p.m.-3 p.m.)
  • 10/12: Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt (11 a.m.-1 p.m.)

 

Cret Park

Jazz on the Parkway
Sundays
September 1-September 29 | 4 p.m.-6 p.m. 

Relax to the rhythm of jazz tunes on Sunday afternoons at Capriccio Café and Bar! Local jazz group Vibe-A-Delphia will perform as you sip your favorite cocktail under the café’s shaded outdoor patio. Additional seating for non-café customers is available on the lawn areas of the park. These performances are supported with funds from the Music Performance Trust Fund, American Federation of Musicians, and Local 77.

Office Events

Center City Sunrise
Wednesdays
September 4-September 25 | 8 a.m.-9 a.m.

CCD will celebrate Center City office employees with coffee giveaways and entertainment as they make their way into the office. Live music will be featured at all locations. These performances are supported with funds from the Music Performance Trust Fund, American Federation of Musicians, and Local 77.
Locations includes:

  • Wednesday, September 4: The Shops at Liberty Place (1625 Chestnut Street)
  • Wednesday, September 11: Duane Morris Plaza (30 S. 17th Street)
  • Wednesday, September 18: IBX Courtyard (1901 Market Street)
  • Wednesday, September 25: Comcast Plaza (1701 JFK Boulevard)

 

These events are weather dependent and coffee available while supplies last.
