About Our Community Service Representative (CSR) Program 

The Center City District's CSRs are a welcoming presence in downtown Philadelphia. They patrol Center City on foot seven days a week, wearing distinctive teal uniforms and equipped with two-way radios, first-aid gear, maps and more. They interact with the public to provide information or directions and are equally prepared to administer first aid, request police services or provide outreach to unsheltered individuals. 

Meet CSR Andrea McPherson 

What is your favorite thing about working at CCD? 

My favorite aspect of working at CCD is knowing that each day, we truly make a positive difference in people's lives through the help we offer, whether big or small. This makes me feel fulfilled. 

What is your fondest memory from work? 

My fondest memory from work is attending the CCD breakfast and luncheon. It’s a wonderful time when all CCD employees can gather, enjoy good food, laugh together, and take pictures. I also cherish the day of my rehire! 

If you were planning a day out in Center City, what would be on the agenda? 

When I visit Center City on my days off, I like to attend a concert at City Winery or check out fun events happening at the Convention Center. 

Have you had any celebrity sightings? OR who is the most memorable person you’ve met? 

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Michael Colyar, the actor and comedian. I’ve also met Stephen Starr, the owner of the Starr Restaurant Group, and Monty G, a local rapper and Philadelphia sports fan. 

What is the most commonly asked question that you get? 

“Where is Reading Terminal Market?”  

“Where is the Convention Center?” 

“Where is the Art Museum?” 

“What are things to see and do in Philly?” 

What is something interesting about you outside of your CCD work that you would like to share about yourself?  

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and birdwatching at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum. I also love visiting Bartram’s Gardens, which features the most amazing plants and flowers!
