Center City District (CCD) Restaurant Week returned from September 8-21, featuring over 100 restaurants that showcased a wide range of diverse and delicious dishes unique to Center City. The ongoing success of CCD Restaurant Week is attributed to the exceptional talent and hard work of the front and back-of-house staff in each participating restaurant. Every busser, bartender, server, and chef deserve recognition for their contributions.
The Restaurant Week Staff Appreciation spotlight allows restaurant owners and managers to nominate one staff member for a chance to win a $500 "tip" in acknowledgment of their dedication. After receiving an overwhelming number of submissions, CCD randomly selected five staff members from restaurants across Center City, with all other entrants receiving a small consolation prize. This fall, CCD is proud to announce five new winners have been selected. Below, read more about them:

Why were they nominated?
Osmar is a hard worker for us and has been at Dim Sum House by Jane G’s for over 10 years.
What is your favorite thing about Center City?
I enjoy working in Center City because it is busy downtown.
What is your favorite part of working in a restaurant?
When I work, I often have friends and customers who come in daily.
Tansen, Server/Bartender/Runner at Flambo Caribbean Restaurant
Why were they nominated?
Tansen Ahmed is not just a server; he is the heart and soul of our dining experience. With an infectious enthusiasm and a genuine passion for hospitality, Tansen consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels valued and appreciated. Tansen has extensive knowledge of our menu and allows them to make personalized recommendations, enhancing each patron’s culinary journey. Tansen’s warm demeanor creates an inviting atmosphere, turning first-time visitors into loyal regulars. Whether it’s remembering a guest’s favorite dish or crafting the perfect wine pairing, Tansen brings a personal touch that elevates every dining experience. In addition to his exceptional service, Tansen is a team player who fosters a positive environment for both colleagues and guests. Their ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism is truly remarkable. What is your favorite thing about Center City?
In Center City, many people come from all over because the city attracts a diverse crowd. I really enjoy meeting many different people.
What is your favorite part of working in a restaurant?
Since completing my hospitality management degree, I have been working in the hotel and service industry. I began my career in this field and have always had a passion for providing excellent service. When people are nice to me, I strive to give my best in return. I truly enjoy working in the service industry, especially in a restaurant setting, as it allows me to meet and interact with people. This experience has taught me so much, and I genuinely love what I do.

Anxhela goes above and beyond her duties to ensure guests satisfaction.
What is your favorite thing about Center City?
I love many things about Center City, especially John F. Collins Park.
What is your favorite part of working in a restaurant?
I really enjoy giving back, and I believe the best way to do this is by serving people, especially food, since everyone loves it.
Manuel, Chef at Cockatoo
Why were they nominated?
Manuel has been a passionate, driven chef who wants to serve customers with utmost care and ensure they have a great experience. He was very excited about restaurant week as it brings in new and regular customers and its kitchen focused.
What is your favorite thing about Center City?
Center City embodies diversity, and today for example is a beautiful day to take a break and enjoy a walk outside.
What is your favorite part of working in a restaurant?
I genuinely enjoy making people feel good when they appreciate my cooking. Since I have an open kitchen, seeing them enjoy the food gives me a wonderful sense of joy.

Why were they nominated?
With her consistency and hard work, Megan has been tremendous during this year's restaurant week.
What is your favorite thing about Center City?
My favorite aspect of Center City is the variety of shops and the crowds of people enjoying the area. I love walking through Rittenhouse Square.
What is your favorite part of working in a restaurant?
I enjoy seeing new faces each day and working with coworkers; it feels like family.
